We’ve been here at Mahadwar Road for quite a while now. If you go behind the Ganesh Temple and look right across from Jyoti Menswear, you'll see us in the Vinayak Apartment building. It’s just a simple, honest place where we cook the kind of food people in Kolhapur have been eating for generations. My staff and I don’t really do anything fancy or modern. We just open up the shutters every morning, get the kitchen stoves going, and make sure the food is ready when the local crowd starts coming in hungry. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in here, especially when there are festivals at the temple nearby, but we manage to get everyone fed. We aren't trying to change the world or win any awards. We are just serving daily meals to the locals and whoever happens to be walking down Mahadwar Road. It’s a busy, noisy spot with all the shoppers and traffic. We keep the tables wiped down and the water jugs full. It’s a small space, not at all like those big glass-fronted cafes you see popping up everywhere else. We just focus on the cooking and the cleaning. If you're looking for us, keep an eye out for the apartment sign, though sometimes the parked bikes block it from view. We've been a small part of this neighborhood for years now. It's just us, working every day to keep the place running. There isn't much more to it than that. We just hope the food tastes okay.
