Down in Ambewadi on Panhala Street, we’ve been running Paradise Restaurants for quite some time now. Kolhapur is the kind of city where people appreciate a straightforward meal, and that is exactly what we provide. Our place is not on the main highway, but on a street that stays busy with local traffic and people going about their business. The seating is basic, with tables that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't have a huge staff, just a few people in the back cooking and a couple of us out front waiting on tables. The menu is mostly local dishes that everyone around here grew up eating. We start early in the morning to get things ready, and by the time lunch rolls around, the place is usually full of workers and shopkeepers from nearby. It gets a bit humid in the dining area when the kitchen is going full tilt, but the overhead fans help a little. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that; people mostly just find us because they live nearby or they’ve heard from a friend that the food is okay. The walls have a few old pictures on them and the floor is just plain stone, but it works for us. It is a simple life running a restaurant on Panhala Street, and we are just happy to keep the doors open every day.
