Kisan Dhaba

Our dhaba is located right on Bawada Road in Kolhapur. We are situated directly across from the Vikrikar Bhavan building, which is a busy place. Because of all the people going to that government office, we get a lot of workers coming in for their lunch break. It gets extremely crowded around one or two in the afternoon every day. We have to move very fast to keep up with the orders then. The rest of the day usually moves at a much slower pace. We started Kisan Dhaba because we saw that people needed a place to eat that was simple and not too expensive. It is a basic setup with just some sturdy tables and chairs for our guests. We do not spend any money on fancy decorations or lighting. The kitchen stays quite hot throughout the day. We make the standard dishes that you would expect to find at any local dhaba. My family helps me out whenever the rush gets too much for one person to handle. We have been at this specific address for a long time now. You can easily spot our sign from the main road. Sometimes the traffic noise from Bawada Road is quite loud, but we have learned to ignore it. We clean the whole place at night and start the prep work again the next morning. It involves a lot of chopping vegetables and scrubbing large pots. We just work hard.
