Gurukul English Medium School

We've been here on Wadi Road for a while now. The campus sits right by the Ico Spinning Mills area in Kolhapur. Most days, it’s pretty busy around here with the traffic and people going to work at the mills. Our school building is just a normal place where we try to get things done. You’ll see the kids running around the grounds before the morning bell rings. It gets quite loud, honestly. The teachers arrive early, some coming from quite far in the city, and they usually spend their time sorting out books or talking about the day’s lessons in the small staff room. We have classrooms that get plenty of light, which is nice when it’s not too hot outside. Parents usually drop their kids off at the main gate and have a quick chat with the guard or whoever is standing there at the time. It isn't fancy at all. We deal with the usual stuff like leaky taps or needing more chalk, just like any other place you would visit. The English medium part is what parents look for, so we focus on that. We see a lot of the same faces every year since families stay in this part of Kolhapur for a long time. It’s just a regular school day after day. Sometimes we have small events where everyone crowds into the main hall, and it gets a bit chaotic, but we manage. That’s just how it is here at Gurukul.
