Akus English Medium School

Akus English Medium School is located in Sangli. We’ve been part of this community for quite some time. It's an English medium school, so we focus on that, but it’s a pretty straightforward place. The building isn't new, but it works for what we need. We have students coming in from different parts of Sangli every morning. Our teachers are mostly locals who have been teaching for years. They know the families and the kids. We have the usual classrooms and a bit of a playground. It gets quite dusty in the summer, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We follow the standard curriculum and try to get through the syllabus every year. There's always something going on, whether it's exams or some small function in the hall. It’s a busy place during the week. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or anything like that. Just desks, benches, and blackboards. Parents come by to talk about their kids' progress, and we try to keep them updated as much as we can. It’s just a regular school day for us most of the time. We open the gates early and close them once the last bus leaves. It is a long day for everyone involved. We just try to make sure the kids learn something before they head home to their parents in the evening.
