You can find us on the 1st floor of a building in General Ganj, Kanpur. The address is 49-54, and being in General Ganj means we are right in the heart of one of the busiest wholesale markets in the city. The 208001 area is always full of people carrying goods, rickshaws stuck in traffic, and the general noise of trade. Since we are on the first floor, it is a little bit of a climb, but it gets you away from the immediate chaos of the street level. We are not a high-end restaurant with a lot of decorations. It is a bhojanalay, which means we focus on simple, everyday food for the workers and traders who spend their days in the market. The kitchen is small but we keep it moving all day long. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just show up, cook the day's food, and serve it to whoever comes up the stairs. The floors are stone and the fans are usually humming to keep the air moving. Kanpur is a dusty, busy place, and General Ganj is even more so. We do our best to keep the place a decent spot for a meal. Most of our customers are the same people every day who work in the nearby shops. We have been part of this market community for a while and we just keep doing our part. It is not fancy, but it is our business.
