Aromas

Aromas has been sitting here in Swaroop Nagar for a long time. We are right across from the Indian Overseas Bank, so we get a lot of people coming in after they finish their bank errands. The address is 7/135, and it is a pretty easy spot to spot if you are walking down the main road. Kanpur can be a very busy and dusty city, so we try to keep the inside as fresh as we can. It is not a very big shop, but we make the most of the space we have. There are always crates of supplies being moved around and the smell of spices in the air. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us and a few helpers making sure the food is ready on time. The morning is usually our quietest time, when we can sit for a minute and have some tea before the lunch crowd starts pouring in. Swaroop Nagar is a lively neighborhood with lots of students and families, so there is never a dull moment. We have seen kids grow up and start coming here on their own. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out. It is hard work, especially when the weather is humid, but we are used to it by now. We just want to serve a good plate of food.
