Jamuna Vaishnav Bhojnalaya

Jamuna Vaishnav Bhojnalaya is situated at 73/27, Kishori Building, right in the heart of Collector Ganj in Kanpur. We are very close to the Central Railway Station and the Ghanta Ghar, so the whole area is always packed with people and rickshaws. It’s a noisy part of town, but that’s just how it is around here. Our bhojnalaya is a basic setup. We have long tables and some benches where people can sit and eat. It’s not the kind of place where you stay for hours; it’s more for getting a meal and getting back to your day. The kitchen is right there, and you can hear the pots and pans clanging all day long. We start early in the morning because travelers coming off the trains are usually looking for something to eat. Kanpur gets very dusty and hot, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the tables and keeping the water jugs filled. We don’t have a fancy menu with lots of choices. We just serve the same kind of food every day, the stuff people expect from a local place like ours. The staff is mostly just local guys who know the neighborhood well. We don't use any big words or have a specific plan for the future. We just open the shutters, cook the food, and hope the day goes smoothly for everyone who stops by to have their lunch or dinner.
