Hucka Restaurant

You have to come up to the top floor of S G M Plaza in Aray Nagar to find us. We are at shop number 8/266. It’s the same building as the CCD, but we are right at the very top. Being near the Indian Bank helps people find the building since that’s a big landmark around here in Kanpur. The stairs or the lift take you up away from the street noise. Once you are on the top floor, the view of the Plaza area is actually quite alright. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always something happening outside. We started this restaurant because we wanted a place in Aray Nagar where people could just sit and eat without it being too formal. The kitchen stays busy with the smell of different spices going all day. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded during the lunch hour when the office workers come out. We try to keep up with the orders as fast as we can. It’s just a regular Kanpur eatery. We don’t have any fancy decorations. The tables are sturdy and the food is hot. That’s what matters most to us and the people who come here. Living and working in Kanpur means dealing with the heat and the crowds, but being on the top floor gives us a little bit of a breeze sometimes. We are just here every day, cooking and cleaning and making sure everything is ready for lunch.
