Riya Travel & Tours

Our office is at Aysha Manzil in Thokkilangadi which is right near the Nirmalagiri Post. It is a small travel and tours setup where we basically help people plan their trips. We aren’t a giant company with hundreds of branches. We are just here in Kannur trying to make travel a bit easier for the people in our village. Most of the time we are just sitting at the desk booking buses or asking about train tickets. It’s a lot of waiting on hold and writing down dates. We have a couple of old chairs for customers to sit on while we check the schedules. Thokkilangadi is a quiet place so we don't get a huge rush of strangers. It’s mostly the same faces coming in when they need to visit family or go for a holiday. We don’t use any complicated systems just the basic stuff that works. The walls have some old calendars and posters on them from years ago. We don't really bother with decorating much. We just want to make sure people get where they are going without too much trouble. Sometimes the printers act up and we have to write things out by hand but no one seems to mind. It’s just a regular local business run by regular people. We like the pace of life here and being able to help our neighbors out with their travel plans whenever they need to go somewhere new.
