If you are looking for Malabarplaza you will find us over at Thekkalakandiyil in Kannur. We have been in this spot for a while now and it’s basically just a local business where we handle various things for the community. It is not one of those big malls you see in the pictures. It is more of a practical space where we work every day. The building is older and has its own character with some chipped paint here and there. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks as long as the work gets finished. Most of the people who come here are locals who live nearby and know us by name. We don't have a big staff or a HR department. It’s just a few of us making sure everything runs okay. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. That’s just life in this part of Kerala. We handle our business in a very direct way without any of that corporate talk you get in the bigger cities. If someone needs something they just walk in and ask. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. It is a bit messy sometimes with boxes or papers around but we know where everything is. Thekkalakandiyil is a place where people just know where to go without needing a map. Every morning we open up and start the same routine.
