Our place is located in Padne, which is a small spot in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. We are right near the Panchayath Office, so it’s easy for anyone in the village to find us. It’s a very local atmosphere here. You can see the coconut trees everywhere and the pace of life is much slower than in the big cities. We don’t have a flashy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s a simple building that fits right in with the rest of the neighborhood. Most of the time, we’re just dealing with local matters and things related to the area. The rain during the monsoon is something else; it really pours down and makes everything green and muddy. We spend our days talking to the people who walk by or come in with questions. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don't use any big words or marketing talk because that’s not how we do things in Padne. We just focus on what needs to happen today. Whether it is paperwork or just helping someone out, we do it from this little corner of Kasaragod. It’s a quiet life, but it’s a good one. Being close to the Panchayath Office means there is always someone around if you need to catch up on the local news or just see what is happening in the village.
