Our office is in Nafeesath Manzil, which is on Master Road in Taliparamba. We are right near the Badar Masjid, so we hear the calls for prayer throughout the day. It’s a local building in the Pushpagiri area of Kannur. The office itself is pretty modest. We’ve got some old wooden desks and a lot of papers everywhere because the airport service business involves a ton of documentation. It’s often quite humid here in Kerala, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze we can. The Master Road area is usually busy with people moving around and motorbikes buzzing past. We spend our time coordinating services and making sure everything is ready for the flights. It isn’t a high-pressure corporate environment, just a group of us working in a family-owned sort of building. We know the people living in the apartments nearby, and there is a real sense of community in Taliparamba. Sometimes the rain is so loud on the roof that we can’t even hear the phone ringing. We just take it as it comes. It’s a straightforward job and we like being located in this part of the district. If you’re coming from the mosque side, we’re just a short walk down the road. It’s a steady place with a lot of history in the walls of Nafeesath Manzil and we just focus on the daily tasks.
