I work out of Madalan House, which is located in C.Poyil, in the Kannur district. My name is Muhammad Junaid Madalan, and this is basically a branch of Akbar Travels but run from a more personal, local setting. It isn’t like the big offices you see in Mumbai or Cochin. I spend a lot of time on the laptop checking different routes for them. The office part of the house is just a desk with a printer and some chairs for people to sit while they wait. It’s a very direct way of doing business. No corporate fluff, no big meetings, just helping neighbors and local people plan their trips. Sometimes the internet can be a bit spotty because of the location, but we manage to get things done eventually. It’s a nice way to work, being right here in the community where I grew up.
