Devi Bhavan Restaurant

Devi Bhavan Restaurant is located inside the hotel grounds on Defence Laboratory Road in the Ratanada area of Jodhpur. Being in Rajasthan, it gets pretty hot during the afternoons, so the kitchen is always a busy, warm place to be. We’ve got a small team here who have been cooking the same way for quite some time. We don't use fancy gadgets or complicated recipes. It’s just food. Most of our regulars come from around the Ratanada neighborhood or are staying in the rooms nearby. You’ll hear the clinking of plates and the sound of the fans humming most of the day. Sometimes the spice in the air makes everyone sneeze when we are prepping the evening meals. It’s a simple setup with tables and chairs that have seen plenty of use. We don't have a giant menu with a thousand items. We stick to what we know how to make. The staff is mostly local people who have lived in Jodhpur their whole lives. We aren't trying to win awards or get on television. We just want to make sure the plates are full and the tea is hot. The floors are stone and stay relatively cool even when the sun is beating down outside. It’s a grounded kind of place where things move at a steady pace, nothing too rushed or overly complicated for no reason. We just keep things running as best as we can every day.
