Shiva Stones

Shiva Stones is found on Chechat Rood in the Kotade area. We work with heavy stones all day, so it is a very dusty and loud place to be. The sound of machines cutting or moving the material is something you just get used to after a while. At our spot in Kotade, we have big piles of stone sitting out in the yard. Most of our day is spent outdoors or in the open shed, so we are at the mercy of the weather. When it rains, the ground gets very muddy and it makes moving the heavy stuff even harder. Shiva Stones has been at this location on Chechat Rood for several years now. We are a small team and we just get on with the work that needs to be done. We wear heavy boots and clothes that we don't mind getting ruined. There isn't much of an office, just a small corner where we keep the records and a few chairs for when we take a break. We drink water from a big clay pot to stay cool during the heat of the day. People driving along Chechat Rood often see us working with the cranes or loading up flatbed trucks. It is a basic business without any frills. We focus on the stones and making sure they are moved to where they need to go. By the end of the day, we are all covered in grey dust and ready to head home. It is just the way it goes here in Kotade.
