If you head out towards Jamunia on Kota Road, you will find Asefa Granites And Stones. We chose this spot because there is plenty of room for the trucks to turn around. Granite is heavy stuff, and you need space to move it with the cranes. It is usually quite hot out here, and there isn't much shade except inside the main shed. We spend our days looking at the grain and color of different slabs. No two stones are exactly the same, which is what makes it interesting but also a bit difficult when a customer wants a perfect match. We have piles of different rocks and finished slabs all over the property. Most of our work is just waiting for the trucks to arrive from the quarries and then sorting through what they brought. We don’t have a lot of walk-in traffic because we are a bit far out, so most of our business comes through phone calls and regular contractors who know our location. We keep things pretty simple. There is a small room where we do the accounts and keep the tools. Sometimes the dust gets so thick you have to wear a mask all day. We just try to keep the machines running and get the orders loaded as fast as we can. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the sun goes down over the road.
