Banas Stones Pvt. Ltd. is based at No. F-49 in the Riico Industrial Area. It is a busy place with a lot of noise from all the factories around us. We have been here long enough that we do not even notice the sound of the machines anymore. Our day starts early, usually before the sun gets too high. We work with all sorts of natural stones. It is a tough job because everything is heavy and the edges can be sharp. We do not have a polished showroom. Most of our stone is stacked up outside or under the main shed. We just wear our work clothes and get on with it. Sometimes people come by to look at the different colors and textures we have. We do not use any special scripts to talk to them. We just tell them where the stone came from and how it holds up. The air is always a bit thick with dust, so we wear masks when we are cutting. It is not the cleanest work, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a rough block turned into something useful. We have a small crew and we have worked together for years. We are not interested in being some corporate giant. We just want to do our work well and get home to our families. It is a simple life at F-49, centered around the stone.
