Sainik School

If you head out towards Balachadi in Jamnagar, you will find our campus. It is a bit away from the main city, right near the coast. The wind comes off the sea and can get quite strong during certain times of the year. Being a Sainik School, things are run a bit differently here than at a regular school. There is a lot of focus on the daily schedule and keeping things on time. We have big open fields where the boys spend a lot of their day doing physical activities. The dormitories are simple and kept tidy by the students themselves. It is not like a regular day school where everyone goes home at 3 PM. We live here together. The staff and the students see each other at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The buildings are spread out, so there is a lot of walking involved to get from class to the mess hall. Everything is built to last and looks quite rugged. You will not find any velvet curtains or soft carpets here. The morning starts very early with drills on the ground while the sun is still coming up. Jamnagar weather is mostly dry, so the dust kicks up quite a bit during sports. We have an old bell that rings to tell everyone where they need to be. We just focus on getting the boys through their classes and making sure they can handle themselves.
