M D Bechara High School is tucked away in Patel Lane, which is in Lalpur, Jamnagar. Being in a place like Lalpur means we have a very local feel. Most of the families around here know each other, and their children have been coming to this school for generations. The building is situated in a quiet lane, which helps a bit with the noise from the street. We don’t have a huge campus, but we use the space we have as best as we can. The classrooms are filled with wooden desks and benches that have been around for quite some time. Every day, the teachers go through the usual lessons in Gujarati and other subjects. It is a very hands-on environment. We don't have a lot of computers or modern tech; we mostly rely on books and talking to the students directly. The office is small and usually has a few people waiting to talk about school fees or certificates. During the monsoon, the lane can get a bit difficult to navigate, but the students always find a way to get here. We take pride in the fact that we are a simple, working school. There is no corporate vibe here at all. It’s just local people teaching local kids in a building that has stood the test of time. We keep things honest and straightforward, focusing on the day-to-day work of running a school in Lalpur.
