Jumma Masjid Madhyamik Shala

Jumma Masjid Madhyamik Shala sits right in the middle of Chandi Bazar. If you know Jamnagar, you know how busy it gets around there. The school has been part of this neighborhood for quite some time now. In the mornings, you can hear the shops opening up while the students are walking in through the gates. It is a secondary school, so we have the older kids mostly. The building itself is not some modern glass tower or anything like that. It has got standard classrooms with wooden desks that have seen better days, but they do the job. During the recess, the noise from the market and the kids talking all blends together. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit much, especially when the rickshaws start honking near the masjid. We have a small staff room where the teachers sit and check papers or have their tea. It is just a normal school day here. Nothing fancy. We try to keep the fans running because it gets really hot in the afternoons. Most of the kids come from nearby houses, so they just walk or bike here. There is always someone forgetting their notebook or losing a pen, which is just how schools go. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we focus more on what is happening inside the books. It is just our little corner in the bazar where we spend most of our daylight hours.
