Divya Jyot Madhyamik Shala

Our school is situated at number 52, right near the bus stand in the Canedy area of Kalyanpur, Jamnagar. Being so close to the bus stand means there is always a lot of movement around us, with people coming and going all day. It’s a convenient spot for the students who come in from the outlying areas. The building itself is a Madhyamik Shala, which means we focus on the middle and secondary years. It’s not a fancy place with a big campus. We have a few blocks of classrooms and a small office where we keep all the records and answer the phone. The walls are covered with student work and some old posters. We don't have a big budget for fancy renovations, so we just make sure everything is functional and safe for everyone. The teachers here are used to the noise of the buses and the local market. We start our day early and finish up by mid-afternoon. Sometimes we have to deal with the dust from the road, but we just keep the doors closed when it gets bad and keep the fans going. It’s a very local, down-to-earth environment. We don't use any corporate talk or big promises. We just provide a place for the local kids to come and sit through their lessons. Most of our staff has been here for years, so we’ve become a bit like a family. It’s just a regular part of the Kalyanpur community, and we try to do our best by the students every single day.
