Razvi High School

Lalpur is a quiet place, and our school fits right into the neighborhood here in Jamnagar. The building has that old-school look, with walls that have seen plenty of rainy seasons. We do not have a giant playground, but the kids find ways to play cricket in whatever space they can find. Most of the staff live close by, so we see the parents at the market or the bus stop all the time. It is not a place for fancy speeches or polished brochures. We just open the gates early, ring the bell, and get to work. The classrooms can get pretty warm in the summer months, but the ceiling fans do their job as best they can. We have desks that have been used by several generations of students by now. You can see names carved into the wood if you look closely enough. We focus on the basic subjects and try to keep everyone on track. Sometimes the goats from the nearby houses wander near the entrance, which makes the younger kids laugh. It is just life in a small town school. We do not have a big budget for decorations, so the walls are mostly covered with maps or student drawings from years ago. It feels like home to most of us because we spend so much of our lives within these four walls. We just keep moving forward one day at a time.
