Shri Jibuti Hindu Mahajan Vividhlaxi High School is right in the heart of Jamnagar. Being in the 361001 area means we are surrounded by shops and houses. The school building is quite old and has a lot of character. You can see the wear and tear on the floors from all the years of students walking through the halls. We have a lot of different classes going on at the same time. It can get pretty noisy with the sounds of the city mixing with the voices of the teachers. We don't have a big budget for repairs, so we just fix things as they break. The desks are old and the blackboards have been painted over many times. We have a small staff of people who have been working here for a long time. We don't use any corporate language or have a big marketing plan. We just show up every morning and do the work. The parents in the neighborhood trust us because they went here themselves when they were young. We have a small yard where the kids can sit during their break, but most of them just hang out in the hallways. It’s a very traditional school environment. If you walk down the main road in Jamnagar, you’ll probably find us easily. It’s just a place of learning for the local families and we’re happy to be a part of it. It feels like a second home to many.
