Tashan Food Point

Our little food point is tucked away in Channi Himmat, over in Jammu. We are really close to the Syndicate Bank, so if you find that, you’ve basically found us. Channi Himmat is a nice area, a bit quieter than the main city center, which I like. I’ve been living in Jammu for a long time and decided to open this place to stay busy. It’s a simple setup with a counter and a small stove. We don't have a big staff, just me and a helper who comes in the afternoons. Most of our customers are people who work in the nearby offices or neighbors who don't feel like cooking dinner. We keep things pretty straightforward. The menu isn't long because I’d rather do a few things well than a lot of things poorly. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles or flashlights, but we keep going. The bank employees often come over for their break, and we hear all the local gossip from them. It’s a friendly place. We don't use any fancy packaging or anything like that. We just put the food in bags and say have a good day. It’s not a glamorous job, but I like being my own boss and seeing the same faces every day.
