Amar Vaishno Dhaba

Amar Vaishno Dhaba is right here in R N Bazar in Jammu. We are very close to Hari Cinema and the Raghunath Mandir. This is a very old part of the city and it shows. The streets are narrow and they are always crowded with shoppers and pilgrims going to the temple. We serve pure vegetarian food because that’s what people in this area want to eat. It’s a small place with wooden benches and simple tables. It gets quite hot in the summer months, but we have some fans going to keep the air moving. The smells from the kitchen go right out into the bazar and draw people in. We don’t have a menu that changes every week. We make the same traditional things every day because that’s what we are good at. Many people coming from the temple stop here for a lunch. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic and people shouting outside, but that’s the charm of R N Bazar. We don’t use any fancy machines, just big pots and open flames for our cooking. The address is 180001. We’ve seen many shops change around us over the years, but we stay the same. My brother handles the cash at the front and I look after the cooking in the back. It’s a hard job standing all day long, but seeing people finish their plates and leave happy makes it okay. We aren't looking to become a big chain or anything. This one shop is enough.
