Veermahila Kranti Farmer Producer Company Limited

Over here in Jalna, specifically in the Jafrabad taluka, we have been working together for a while now. Our group goes by Veermahila Kranti, which sounds a bit grand, but really we are just neighbors. We use Raju Uttam Lokhande’s place in Hiwarabali as our main point of contact. It is not a big office, just a room where we keep our files and meet up when the weather allows. Most of us have been farming this land since we were kids, following what our parents taught us. But these days, you need more than just a plow and some rain. You need to know where to sell and how to get seeds for a decent price. We formed this producer company so we could have a bit more weight when we talk to buyers. It is not always easy getting everyone to agree on things, and sometimes the rain doesn't come when we need it to, which makes things stressful for the whole group. We are just trying to keep our farms running and make sure our families are okay. If you head down towards the 431206 area, you will see the fields we work on. We are not experts in business, just people who know the land and want to keep working it. It is hard work, but it is our work.
