Dyuthi Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically run out of Shri Ganpat Kishanrao Shinde's place in Partur. We are in the Jalna district where the weather can be a bit of a gamble most years. Being a farmer producer company sounds official, but mostly it's just us neighbors trying to get a better handle on our farming business. We spend a lot of time discussing the soil and the crops over tea at Ganpat’s. It’s better than trying to negotiate everything by yourself. We’ve all seen the ups and downs of the markets over the years. Some seasons the cotton is good, other times it’s the grain that pulls us through. We aren't some distant company with a headquarters in a glass building. We are right here in the dirt. Most of us have calloused hands and a lot of stories about the droughts we've seen. We just want to make sure the work we put into the ground actually pays off at the end of the day. There’s no magic to it, just keeping track of the expenses and trying to sell at the right time. We help each other out with tools or advice when someone’s crop is looking a bit yellow. It’s a community effort more than a business project. We take it one day at a time and try to stay ahead of the bills and the bugs that eat our profits.
