Talni Farmer Producer Company Limited

Talni Farmer Producer Company Limited is a small group of us here in Talni Gauthan, which is in the Bhokardan area of Jalna. We operate out of Uttam Wagh’s place on a daily basis. Jalna is known for being a busy place for trade, but out here in the village, life moves a bit slower and is tied mostly to the seasons and the weather. Most of us grew up together, playing in the same fields we now work in every day as adults. We started this company because we realized that one person alone doesn't have much power when it comes to selling their produce to the big buyers. If we go together, we have a better chance of getting a fair deal for our hard work. We don't have a big staff or a fancy website. It’s just a few of us handling the books and making sure the registrations are kept up to date. Most days are spent worrying about the pests or the price of diesel for the tractors. When the harvest comes, the whole village is busy from morning till night. We try to help the younger guys understand that farming is still a good way to live, even if it’s a lot of physical labor. We just want to keep our community strong and make sure that the land stays in our hands for a long time. It's a lot of paperwork sometimes, but we manage.
