Santaji Maharaj Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are over at house number 91 in Dhalskheda, which is in the Ambad area of Jalna. We are just a group of farmers who came together to form this company. It’s named after Santaji Maharaj, and we try to work together fairly. Our daily life is mostly about checking on the crops and making sure the equipment is working. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment. We spend a lot of time sitting around under the trees talking about the market rates. Most of us have been farming here our whole lives. We don't have a big team of experts. We just use our own experience to get things done. Sometimes the crops don't do well, and we have to figure out a plan B. That’s just part of the job. We share what we know and help each other with the heavy lifting. It’s a small operation, run out of a house in the village. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most people know us because they live right down the road. We’re just trying to make the most of what the land gives us. It’s a quiet life, mostly, until the harvest starts. Then everyone is working around the clock. We just take it as it comes and hope for the best for every family here. We've got a small shed for the tools and some extra seeds. It’s a bit cramped in there, but it keeps everything dry when the rains finally come.
