It’s a small shop we have here at number two in Yadlapur. If you are coming through Partur, you might have seen us. We started Rushikeshmaral Rural Farmer Producer Company Limited because the local farmers needed a central spot to get together. Usually, you’ll find one or two of us sitting around talking about the prices or the pests that are bothering the cotton this season. It is a simple setup, nothing like those big offices you see in the city. We keep our records in some old ledgers and try to stay on top of what everyone is growing. The village is quiet most of the time, but it gets busy when it is time to harvest. We deal with all sorts of things, from basic supplies to trying to find better ways to sell the grain. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the shade and wait. It is not always smooth, and we make mistakes with the scheduling sometimes. Farming is unpredictable, so we just adapt as we go. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the local guys from Yadlapur, trying to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off at the end of the month. It’s hard work, and the sun is brutal, but being together makes it a bit easier to handle. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just working the land and trying to stay afloat.
