Rayteche Swarajya Producer Company Limited

Our group is based at House Number 658 in Machindra Chincholi, over in the Ghansawangi area of Jalna. Rayteche Swarajya Producer Company Limited was put together by local people who actually work the land. We don't have a big fancy building or anything like that. We mostly just meet up at the house to talk about the farming business. It’s hard to make a go of it these days with the cost of everything going up so fast. We grow a bit of everything that works in this Jalna soil. The weather is always a gamble, so we try to stick together to manage the risk. When you have a producer company, you can talk to the buyers as a group instead of just one person trying to get a fair price. It makes a difference when it's time to sell the harvest. We spend a lot of time out in the fields, so the office work is something we do in the evenings or when the weather is too bad to be outside. It’s a lot of physical labor and sometimes it feels like we’re barely keeping up, but that’s the nature of farming. We know the area well and we know our neighbors. This company is just our way of staying organized and making sure our village stays productive. We aren't looking for anything more than a fair chance to sell what we grow and live.
