Patilthale Gramin Farmer Producercompany Limited

Over here in Talewadi, which is part of Bhokardan in the Jalna district, we have our little setup for the Patilthale Gramin Farmer Producercompany Limited. It is basically run by Ganesh Thale and some other local families from around the village. Our office, if you can even call it that, is at house number Talewadi. We are just local farmers who decided to pool our resources together because it’s better than trying to handle everything alone. Jalna gets pretty dry in the summer, so we have to be smart about how we manage our crops and sales. We don't have a big staff or fancy computers with the latest software. Most of the work is done with our own hands and a lot of patience. We talk about the crops over tea and decide what needs to be done for the next season. It’s a very rural way of doing things, but it works for us and our families. We aren't looking to be the biggest company in the state or win any awards. We just want to make sure the families in our village get a fair shake at the market. You won't find any slick salespeople here. Just people who know the land and the struggle of making a living from it. If you come by the house, you'll likely find someone working in the yard or checking on the storage sheds. It is a quiet place, but we keep busy enough.
