Panchtantra Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically just a bunch of us from the Ambadgondi area trying to make things work. We set things up over at the place belonging to Baburao Gawali’s son. It's a small village setup, so everyone knows where it is. Farming around here in the 431204 area isn't exactly easy money. You have to deal with the heat and the bugs and the prices that seem to change every hour. We started this company because it felt like the right thing to do for the community. Instead of everyone going to the market alone, we try to pool what we have. It makes the transport a bit easier, I suppose. There’s always a lot of talk about what to plant next. Some people want to try new things, while others want to stick to what their fathers grew. We have our meetings and sometimes they get a bit loud, but that’s just how it is when people care about their livelihood. We don't have any fancy brochures or a website that looks professional. It's just plain talk and hard work. If someone needs help with their equipment or needs to find a better deal on sacks, they come by. We try to be useful to each other. It’s about surviving the season and hoping for a good rain. That is really the long and short of it for us at Panchtantra.
