Ovee Mahila Krushivikas Producer Company Limited

We operate out of Partur, over in the Jalna district. You can find us at Bhaskar Satonkar’s place, where we’ve set up a small space to handle our business. We are a Mahila company, which means it’s the women from the local farms who are running the show. In our part of Jalna, women do so much of the work in the fields anyway, so it only made sense for us to start our own producer company. We call it Ovee, and we focus on helping each other develop our farming skills. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning; it’s usually just us sitting together, sometimes with kids running around, trying to figure out the best time to sell our cotton or grain. We talk about everything from the price of fertilizer to how to handle the pests that keep eating our crops. It’s a lot of responsibility, but it’s better than being told what to do by middle-men who don’t know the soil. We aren't experts in business, but we know what our families need to survive. Every day is a bit of a juggle between the house and the company work, but we manage somehow. We’re just a group of hardworking women in Partur trying to make sure our farms stay productive and our community stays strong. It’s simple, honest work, and we’re proud to be doing it together.
