Out in Nanegaon, which sits in the Badnapur area of Jalna, you will find our group. We are called Nanegaon Baliraja Agro Producer Company Limited. Our main spot is at Gut No. 10. We chose the name Baliraja because it means a lot to the farmers here. It is about the spirit of the land. Our office at Gut No. 10 is where everything happens, from planning the sowing to figuring out how to get the harvest to the buyers. Jalna is known for its agriculture, but being in a village like Nanegaon means we have to work twice as hard to get noticed. We are a practical bunch. We don't have any polished speeches or corporate slogans. We just talk about the weather, the soil, and the price of fertilizer. The company is owned by the farmers themselves, so every decision we make is for our own benefit. It isn't always easy. There are days when things go wrong and the crops don't look good, but we stick together. We use our collective strength to buy what we need at better prices. It is a very grounded way of doing business. We don't have fancy signage or a big gate. If you come to Gut No. 10, you will just see people working and trying to make a decent life for themselves and their families. It is just our way of surviving and hopefully doing a bit better each year. We stay busy through every harvest.
