Krushikshetra Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group started up over at Borgaon Kasari in the Sillod area. We run Krushikshetra Farmer Producer Company Limited right from where Sangitabai Jadhav stays. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those big offices you see in the cities. We’re all local people from around here who know the soil and the crops. Most mornings, a few of us gather to talk about the harvest and what the prices are looking like. It’s hard work being out in the sun all day, but having this company helps us stay organized. We aren't experts at everything, but we know farming. Sillod has always been our home, and we wanted to do something that kept the benefits within our own community. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit much for us, but we get through it. We handle a lot of different things depending on the season. If someone needs seeds or advice on their field, they just walk over to our spot. It’s very informal. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who care about how the village is doing. We don't make big promises, we just try to help each other out with the farm stuff. It’s been a learning process for everyone involved since we started this. We just keep our heads down and work on the next season's plans. It is more of a community thing than a business really. We take it one day at a time here.
