Khedekar Farmers Producer Company Limited

This company runs out of Shivni village in the Jalna district. We are set up at the place of Shri Eknath Asaram. It is a small operation, mostly just a few of us who grew up around these parts and know the farming cycles by heart. Jalna can get very dry, so we spend a lot of time worrying about the water and how it affects the yield. We help the local growers get their stuff together so it’s easier to sell in bigger batches. The office is really just a corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. You can hear the goats and the cows from the neighbors while we are working. It isn't a place with air conditioning or fancy chairs. We sit on benches and talk about what seeds are working best this season. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just keep going by sunlight. We handle the collection of the grain and make sure it’s stored somewhere dry until the trucks arrive. It’s a lot of manual work and the days are long, especially when the sun is beating down on the tin roof. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a group of farmers trying to make the business side of things a little bit smoother for everyone in Shivni. It’s a plain and simple way of working.
