We are located at Gut No. 249, right on the main road in Kumbefal. This is the heart of the Jalna district, and it gets pretty hot out here during the summer months. Kajla Viksit Farmer Producer Company Limited is our way of trying to make things a bit better for the local farmers around here. We have a simple setup because we would rather spend our money on the crops than on a fancy building. You can see us working there most days, talking to people who bring their produce in from the surrounding fields. Jalna is famous for its crops, and we try to make sure our members are getting the most out of their hard work. It is a lot of back-and-forth with the traders and the buyers, which can be exhausting. We don't have a marketing department, so we just talk to people directly. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish the weighing and the recording of the bags. It is a very hands-on job. We deal with all the typical problems like power cuts or the price of diesel going up. It’s not something we do to get rich quick; it’s just a way to survive and maybe grow a little bit every year. We are just regular people from Kumbefal trying to manage a business that makes sense for our village. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we are doing our best with what we have.
