Kaiwalleshwar Farmer Producer Company Limited is a group of us who live and work around Kajala. We are based at Dattatray Pralhad Khandekar’s house, which is number 283 in the village. Badnapur is our main area for getting things done. We started this because we felt like we could do more if we put our heads together. Farming is tough around here, and nobody is going to do the work for us. We use the space at the house to keep our equipment lists and meet up when the sun goes down. It’s a simple setup. There are no fancy signs or receptionists. Usually, you’ll just see a few of us sitting on the porch talking about the soil or the price of fertilizer. We grow what the land allows, and we try to make sure everyone in the group gets a fair shake. The village life is quiet, but there is always something to do on the farm. We don't have big dreams of taking over the world. We just want to keep our families fed and our farms running for another year. It’s a local effort, through and through. Everyone knows everyone else, so we have to be honest and work hard. That’s just the way it is in Kajala. We are just regular people working with what we have. It is good to have neighbors you can actually count on.
