We’ve got our setup at Pundlik Bhika Diwate’s place in Dhawda. It’s in the Sillod area. Divatepatil Agro Shetkari Producer Company Limited is basically just a few of us trying to organize the local farming a bit better. The heat in Sillod can be really something in the summer. We spend a lot of time under the shade of the trees talking about the crops. Our office is just a part of the house where we keep the ledgers and the receipts. It’s not very organized but we know where everything is. We don’t have a big fancy sign or a receptionist. If you show up you just shout for Pundlik and someone will come out eventually. We deal with all kinds of stuff like seeds and fertilizers and selling the produce. It’s a lot of back and forth with the traders. Sometimes we feel like we are just fighting against the weather every year. But we’ve lived here our whole lives so we don’t know any different. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big talk or promises. We just want to make sure the farmers in Dhawda get a fair deal. It’s a lot of manual labor and the paperwork is a headache but we get through it. We’re just local people doing local work and hoping the rains are good to us this year.
