Bhoiraj Fisheries Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at Gat Number 1496 in the Badnapur area of Jalna. Unlike some of the other groups around here that focus only on grain or cotton, we are more about the water and the fish. It is a different kind of farming, but it has its own set of headaches. Working with fisheries means we are always worrying about water levels and the health of the stock. Our group came together because managing ponds and selling fish is a lot easier when you have a few more hands involved. We are based out in the field, not in some city office. Badnapur is where we live and work, and we know the local market pretty well. We aren't trying to be some big industry leaders; we just want to make sure the fish we raise get a fair price. It involves a lot of muddy boots and long hours by the water, especially when it’s time to harvest and move the product. Sometimes the equipment breaks or the transport is late, but we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a group of locals trying to make a decent living in Jalna without losing our shirts. We don't have a polished story to tell or fancy brochures, just the reality of working with the land and the water every day of the year to support our homes.
