Surbhi Restaurant & Turban Museum

You can find us at Natwara House on Old Amer Road in Jaipur. This place is a bit unusual because we have a restaurant and a Turban Museum all in one. We are on the way to the old forts, so we see a lot of people passing by. The building is old and has a lot of character, but it also takes a lot of work to keep up. We spend our time between the kitchen and looking after the turban collection. It is a local family-run kind of thing. We aren't professional museum curators. We just have these items and we like showing them to people who come in to eat. Old Amer Road is always packed with rickshaws and tourists. It can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. We try to keep the restaurant part simple. The food is just local stuff we know how to cook. We don't have any big corporate polish. The floors are a bit uneven and the walls have been painted many times. We see people from all over who are curious about the turbans. We explain what we know, but we aren't experts. It is just a part of the house. We start early in the morning, dusting the displays and getting the stove going. It is a long day, but it is our routine. We are just a small part of the history here in Jaipur.
