Stone On Net (India) Pvt. Ltd.

We are up on the fourth floor of Ganpati Plaza, in unit 414. Being on M.I. Road means we are right in the middle of all the action in Jaipur. The building is always busy with people going up and down the elevators. We are Stone On Net (India) Pvt. Ltd., but we aren't as technical as the name might sound. We basically work as a bridge for people looking for stone. Our office is full of small samples—different colors of granite, marble, and other rocks. They are scattered on the desks and on the floor. It’s a lot of phone calls to quarries and checking on truck deliveries. It can be stressful when a shipment is delayed at some border, but we deal with it. We don't have a big showroom here because the actual stone is way too heavy for a fourth-floor office. We just use the space for the administrative side of things. There are four of us in the office most days. We drink a lot of coffee and try to keep the paperwork from flying away when the fan is on. We don't really do the whole corporate things. We just try to find the right stone for the right price and make sure it gets to the site on time. It is a lot of coordinating and sometimes a lot of arguing with drivers, but it is our job.
