The Rajasthan Institute Of Engg & Tech is out in Bhankrota, right on the main Ajmer Road. It’s one of those places that you can’t miss if you’re driving towards the city, though the traffic near the Riet gate can be a real headache during peak hours. We’ve been operating from this spot for quite a while now. The building is large and gray, standing out against the shops and smaller houses in the area. Most of our time is spent in the administrative block or heading over to the workshops. It’s a very practical place, with lots of concrete and open corridors that catch the dust from the highway. We have a lot of students coming from all over, so the local tea stalls and snack shops nearby do a lot of business. The atmosphere is pretty casual; you’ll see people sitting on the benches under the few trees we have, just chatting between their sessions. It’s not one of those polished, modern campuses you see in brochures, but it’s where we work every day. We spend a lot of time fixing things, whether it's a broken chair or a flickering light in the hallway. The noise from the Ajmer Road is a constant background hum that you eventually stop noticing after a few weeks. It’s just a regular, busy institute where the focus is on getting the labs done and making sure the schedule is followed. We keep the registers at the front desk and wait for the day to end.
