Prince Industries

Our place, Prince Industries, is at 28 Ghat Gate ka Rasta, right in the middle of Johari Bazar. It’s a very old part of the city. The lanes are narrow and always full of people. We do small-scale manufacturing and some assembly work here. It’s a lot of metal and small parts. The machines we use are old but they still work fine for what we need. It can get pretty loud when everything is running at once. We’ve been operating out of this small space for years. It’s a family-run thing, mostly. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a desk tucked into a corner where we keep the papers. The walls are a bit stained and the floor is uneven, but it’s our space. We make things for other local businesses mostly. Sometimes it’s hard to get materials delivered because the trucks can’t fit down the street, so we use smaller carts. It’s a lot of manual coordination. We know everyone on the street, from the chai wallah to the other shop owners. It’s a tight community. We just focus on getting the day's work done and making sure the quality is okay. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we do at number 28. Every day is the same rhythm of noise and work in the heart of the city.
