Patterns India

Patterns India is located at B-9 in the Sudarshanpura Industrial Area. It’s a typical industrial spot with a lot of noise and trucks moving around all day. We have a large hall where we do all the pattern making and the printing. The floors are concrete and they get pretty cold in the winter. We have these large tables where we spread out the fabric to see the designs. It’s a messy process sometimes because of the dyes and the ink. We have to wear old clothes so we don't ruin anything good. We started here because the rent was okay and there was enough space for the machines. Most of the people working here live nearby, so they just walk or bike to the factory. We don't have any fancy signs or a reception area. If you come to the gate, you'll probably see one of the guys loading a truck. We work six days a week and usually take Sundays off to rest. The machinery is old but it works fine as long as we keep it oiled. We aren't trying to change the world, we're just making sure the patterns come out right and the fabric is cut straight. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Sometimes the supply of material is late and we have to adjust our schedule, but we manage. My brother handles the accounts while I stay on the floor to watch over the production.
