Kanji Restaurant

Kanji Restaurant is part of the Kanji Palace Hotel on Station Road in Jaipur. We are right across from the Polovictory Cinema, which is a big landmark around here. Because of the cinema and the train station, there are always people walking past our doors. Jaipur is a busy city, and Station Road is one of the loudest parts. We get a mix of people staying at the hotel and locals coming in after watching a movie. The restaurant has been around for some time, and it has that old Jaipur feeling. We don't have modern, sleek furniture. It’s more about being practical and having enough chairs for everyone. The staff has seen thousands of travelers come and go over the years. We don't have a fancy mission statement or a bunch of awards. We just focus on getting the kitchen ready every day. Sometimes the power goes out or the street outside is blocked by a parade, but we just keep going. We buy our groceries from the local markets and try to keep things simple. The 302006 area is always changing, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. We don’t put a lot of effort into advertising. Most people just see our sign while they’re walking to the station or the cinema. It’s a honest way to run a business, and we’re happy to be here. Working in the hospitality trade is not easy, but we have made our peace with the long hours.
