Kaleen International

We spend most of our days here at 4, Gems Enclave in Malviya Nagar surrounded by stacks of rugs and heavy rolls of carpet. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we handle the inventory and talk to people who come by looking for something for their floors. The name Kaleen International sounds big, but really it’s just a few of us making sure things get moved from one spot to another. Some mornings are quiet, and we just sit with the inventory lists, but other times it gets crowded with deliveries blocking the doorway. You can hear the traffic from Malviya Nagar outside most of the day. We’ve been at this address for a while now. The walls are lined with samples that have been there for years, some getting a bit dusty. We don’t do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People usually find us because they live nearby or heard about the shop from a neighbor. It gets quite warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. We just keep the fans going and get through the paperwork. There’s always a lot of heavy lifting involved with these carpets. It’s hard work on the back, but it is what we do. We try to keep things organized, though with so many different patterns and sizes, the piles tend to grow faster than we can sort them. It’s just a normal business day for us, and we usually end it with a quick tea before locking up the shutters.
