Garam Masalaa

Our place is at 18-19 A, Jharkhand MOD, over in the Khatipura area of Jaipur. We’re right near Sadhna Hospital, so we get a lot of people coming in who are visiting family there. It’s a bit of a dusty corner of town, but it’s our corner. We started this place because we wanted to work for ourselves. The kitchen is where most of the action happens, and it can get pretty loud with the clinking of pans. We have a few tables out front for whoever wants to sit. It’s not the kind of place where you need to dress up. Most people just come in their everyday clothes after work. We see the same faces quite often, which is nice. The traffic on the road outside can be a bit much during the evening rush. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients if the market was slow that morning, so we just tell people what we have left. We aren't trying to be the most popular spot in Jaipur, just a place where you can get a decent meal. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but for now, we just focus on the cooking. It’s a simple life running a small restaurant. We open the shutters early and close them late, and that’s about it.
